What is Joomla?

Joomla is a CMS (content management system)A content management system is software that keeps track of every piece of content on your Website, much like your local public library keeps track of books and stores them. Content can be simple text, photos, music, video, documents, or just about anything you can think of. A major advantage of using a CMS is that it requires almost no technical skill or knowledge to manage. Since the CMS manages all your content, you don't have to.

What is Included for the $220

• Database Set-up

Database set-up includes logging in to your hosting account and creating a mysql database and user for Joomla to operate on.

• Joomla Installation

Installation includes uploading over 4000 joomla files from our local PC to your hosting server. This process can take anywhere from a few minutes to several hours, depending on server activity and connection.

• Custom Template Design

Template design includes design of your overall websites look and feel, including the header, navigation system, fonts, colors, etc..

• Content Placement

Content placement includes placement of content that you will provide to us. We do not provide website content. We expect al content provided to be in its final state. We expect that content will be provided to us in the form you wish it to be viewed. Pages should be titled with the corresponding menu title.

• Menu Assignment

Menu assignment includes the assigning of all content to a menu item in your navigation system.

• 5 Rounds of revisions to design and content

Website development can be a tedious process, for this reason, it is important that you know what you want. We will do our best to develop a website according to your specifications, the greater the detail of these specifications the more likely you will receive exactly what you want. We will present you with a first draft based on your specs.  After that you will review and send comments for your first revision. This process will continue until your 5th revision. Additional revisions will acquire an hourly charge of $25/hour, with a minimum of one hour. We also have a monthly maintenance plan for those needing regular updates and changes at $50 a month.

• What is a revision?
  

• A revision is any requested changes during the websites development. We suggest that you make your revisions as detailed as possible, so that your revisions are used in the most efficient manner.
• 1 Standard Contact Form

This includes one standard form linked to an email of your choice with basic name, address and phone information and form below. We can also use the same type of form for additional persons needing to be listed. Any custom requests will acquire additional charges.

• Login/User Registration Capabilities

This includes a registration function that can give the ability for visitors to register to your website to view otherwise locked content, or simply to become a member of your organization etc..

• Banner or Ad Rotation Modules

This is an ad module that makes it possible to display ads from different publishers.

• Simple Image Gallery

Display a “light box” style gallery of images on your website

• Blog

This includes the setup of a blog style layout on your website that you can use to keep visitors up to date on your website.

• Site Search

This includes setup of the site search function, which is a small search box that visitors can use to search your sites content.

Additional Options

• Simple Shopping Cart – basic cart with limited features
• Complete Shopping System – a shopping system with many features and capabilities.
• Flash Enhancements – some flash can be added to give your site an additional pop.
• Social community – give your visitors the ability to join your community and socialize (similar to MySpace, Facebook etc…)
• Custom Forms – have the ability to display custom forms for your site

There are several additional options available at additional costs.  Joomla is an amazing open source system. That gives programmers and developers access to important programming information so that many components and add-ons can be created to work with Joomla.


There are many other additional options as well.  Just about any feature you can request can usually be catered to. Just know that these additional options are NOT INCLUDED and will acquire additional charges if requested.

What Is Expected From Our Clients

Before beginning a website a few things must be understood. We work hard to make sure our clients receive a great value in our service. We only ask for a few things.

• Hosting and domain information must be provided
• Our clients must have a domain registered, and Linux hosting setup, with at least one available mysql database, before we can begin working on their site.
• Payment must be provided before services are rendered. Our time is very valuable in our industry, especially considering the amazing rates we are charging.
• All website content must be prepared and ready to go up before we begin services. We will need a detailed layout in a text format of your choice, which describes exactly how you want your content displayed, including photos, headings and menu items.  Again, our time is very valuable to us, and in order to keep our rates low, we must limit the time spent on odds and ends to a minimum.
• When requesting revisions, we suggest that our clients give as much detail as possible. If all you need is a change in background color, that will be counted as a revision. We have no limits on the amount of changes needed in a revision, however you are limited to 5 revisions.

What’s the process?

1.    You as the client must do your part which is listed above.
2.    Payment must be made in full
3.    Client must provide us with content layout, and any other notes, ideas, images, files, etc..
4.    Skilled Graphics will setup database, and upload all files to the server.
5.    Skilled Graphics will then design a template based on the client’s requirements.
6.    Skilled Graphics will submit the first website draft to the client for comments.
7.    Skilled Graphics will make all changes requested by the clients, and submit the first revision for further comments.
8.    This process will continue until 5 revisions are used.
9.    Additional revisions will acquire an hourly charge of $25/hour. We also have a monthly maintenance plan for those needing regular updates and changes for $50 a month.

Maintenance

Joomla is designed so that anyone can update their content without knowledge of any coding languages. It is fairly simple but can become time consuming. It is our objective to basically “Get you started” with a nice website that you can maintain yourself with ease. However many people do not have the time for this. As our business grows we are getting many requests to make changes to previously completed websites. We do not mind doing this but it can take a lot of valuable time from us. In order to be able to help our clients with their maintenance we have started a “Maintenance Plan” with several options. We will gladly make any minor updates, changes or fixes to your site. If you know that you are going to need regular updates, and won’t have time to make them yourself, this is for you. We will update, amend, modify, or add to your content, and even make minor graphic changes if needed. If you are not under the maintenance plan, and you require updates or changes you will be billed at $25 an hour (with a minimum of 1 hour) for these changes.

Anything exceeding one hour is rounded to the next hour. For example, for .75 hours you would be billed for 1 hour and for 1.25 hours of work, you would be billed for 2 hours.

Below is a chart which explains the options.
We have hourly, monthly, 6 monthly, and yearly plans. The larger the plan the more you save, and the more you get for your money. When each plan has expired the man hours are reset. Man hours do not roll over. We will send you a detailed document of how your man hours were spent. If for some reason you run out of man hours, the hourly charge will kick in. However, we will notify you beforehand, and give you the option to purchase a better suiting plan.
